watchcast ranks real micro-documentaries. This policy covers what we publish, what we won’t, and how we treat clearance and disclosure.
What we publish
We feature nonfiction short films — profiles, science, craft, community, environment, urban life — drawn from filmmakers around the world. Every pick is a real documentary credited to its maker.
Prohibited content
- Material that is unlawful, or that incites violence or hatred.
- Sexual content involving minors, or any non-consensual sexual content.
- Content that infringes copyright or other rights (see our DMCA Policy).
- Deceptive content presented as fact without basis, or deepfakes passed off as real footage.
Copyright clearance
We only rank and stream work we have the right to show, or that the filmmaker has submitted and licensed to us. Submitting work to [email protected] confirms you hold the necessary rights.
AI disclosure
Where a film uses generative AI in a way that materially affects its factual claims, we expect that to be disclosed, and we will label it for members. We do not present AI-generated footage as authentic documentary record.
Reporting & removal
To report content that breaches this policy, email [email protected]. We review reports and may remove content or restrict access where warranted.
